On May 9, 2024, Ms. Ratklao Intawong Suwankhiri, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, announced that eight agencies from five ministries—including the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and Ministry of Public Health—have collaborated to enhance the efficiency of export permits, product inspections, and customs clearance.

Key Features of the One Stop Service

  1. Electronic Single Submission System

    • A Single Form will be used across all relevant agencies to reduce paperwork and expedite approvals.
    • Agencies will share permit data for greater transparency and efficiency.
    • A Smart Quiz and Checklist will guide businesses on the required procedures and relevant agencies to contact.
  2. Unified Export Inspection Standards

    • A Green Line Standard will be implemented across all agencies to ensure uniformity and faster processing.
    • The Customs Department will be authorized to conduct inspections on behalf of other agencies to reduce duplication.
  3. Enhanced Customs Clearance Process

    • The use of electronic systems and CCTV for physical inspections of cargo, vehicles, and transport registration will improve efficiency and speed up customs clearance.

Boosting Thailand-Laos-China Trade

The Nong Khai checkpoint is the first to implement this integrated trade facilitation system, given its strategic position as the gateway for Thai exports to Laos and China. Additionally, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has instructed authorities to reduce the number of restricted goods categories to further increase trade volume and generate more income for businesses and local communities.
